LEAVE OUR HILLS ALONE

Standing Up for Scotland’s Hills, Glens, and Communities

Leave Our Hills Alone is a community led group formed to protect rural landscapes, wildlife, and local communities from inappropriate large scale energy developments. We believe that climate action must not come at the cost of environmental destruction, loss of democratic participation, or irreversible harm to the places people call home. Across Scotland, hills and glens are being targeted for industrial wind farms, battery storage sites, solar parks, access roads, substations, and grid infrastructure. These developments are often proposed with limited scrutiny, rushed consultation, and claims that do not fully reflect their long term environmental and social impacts. We exist to challenge this approach and to ensure that communities have a clear, informed, and united voice.

Protecting Our Landscapes

We stand up for Scotland’s hills, glens, peatlands, and wildlife, opposing inappropriate industrial energy developments that cause lasting environmental harm.

Defending Community Voices

We support the right of local communities to be informed, heard, and involved in decisions that permanently affect where they live.

Challenging Misleading Claims

We question overstated benefits and incomplete assessments, using evidence and local knowledge to ensure honesty and accountability in planning.
